Common questions

Does LeLau need the internet?

No. Once you have an answer model, chat, packs and Siri answers all run on your iPhone with no connection. The network is used only to download a model, build a pack from a web topic, or look something up online. Look-up and topic builds go over Tor; model downloads go directly to Hugging Face unless you choose Through Tor in Settings > Manage models > Download models.

Where is my data?

On your iPhone. There is no LeLau account, cloud sync, or telemetry server. Deleting the app deletes its data. See the Privacy Policy.

A pack build failed

Topic builds need a working Tor connection; if Tor cannot connect, the build stops rather than using a direct connection. Try again on a network that does not block Tor, or build a pack from your own pasted material, which is fully offline.

Which answer model should I pick, and why is one missing?

Gemma 4 E2B (2.8 GB) gives the best answers on iPhones with 8 GB of memory. Granite 4.0 H 1B (0.9 GB) is the best smaller choice. LeLau only lists models that fit your iPhone's memory, so larger ones do not appear on older iPhones. A download also needs that much free storage. Without any model, LeLau still searches your packs and quotes what it finds.

How do I use Siri?

Say "Hey Siri, ask LeLau" followed by your question. It works with the app closed and needs no setup.

How do I delete my data?

Delete any conversation inside the app, or delete the app itself to remove everything: models, packs, and history.
